What's Your Dream?

Reinforcements

more articles

When it gets cold during the winter, the Monarch butterflies huddle together to protect each other, to support each other and to reinforce each other. They pack together and literally are touching. While there’s plenty of trees and space they could go to, they jam themselves together in groups of hundreds and thousands during the winter in Mexico.

While they can’t verbalize it, I’m sure the evolutionary theory is that "I’ll block the wind for you today and you block it for me tomorrow." Also by working together, the heat from my body can help to warm you and the heat from your body can help to warm me. Together as a team they can stay warmer, than they can individually. Together as a team they can survive, while individually they would perish.

If we follow the example of the Monarchs, by reinforcing each other, by helping each other, by teaming up, we can accomplish more than we can individually.

The monarch is attracted to the beautiful things in life -- the flowers, the nectar, and the sun. Have you ever noticed butterflies flying around? It’s usually in the sunshine and light.
In fact, if you read butterfly gardening books, they’ll tell you to plant your butterfly attractant plants in a sunny area. Butterflies like the sun.

The questions for you are these:
Where are you hanging around?
What are you attracted to?
Who are you spending your time with?
Are you in the sunshine and the light or are you flying into dark, depressing, dispiriting areas.

Do I come to class or a meeting with energetic individuals?
Do I learn something today? Do I build my self-image and self-concept?
Do I associate with winners or do I stay home and watch another hour of depressing TV and news.

It’s a choice. What are you attracted to? What do you want to be attracted to in the future?

There's a joke which makes the point.
Howard went into a restaurant and ordered a lobster. It comes to the table, but it only has one claw. He hits the ceiling and calls the waiter. He says, "What's the matter with my lobster, it's only got one claw." The waiter says, "I don't know, I guess it got into a fight with another lobster."
Howard said, Well, I'll tell you what, you take this one back and bring me the winner."

Associate with winners, and their winning attitudes and beliefs will rub off on you.
